  29. SPeaking from an art point of view, I can say that Director is a paint in 
  30. the butt.  Director 5.0 is on the verge of release, but Dir. 4.04 only 
  31. lets you author in 8bit colour.  Dir. 5 fixed this problem, but if you 
  32. have 4.04, that is a MAJOR pain.  Other than that, Director is a very 
  33. awesome authoring tool. Loads of power in a small package.  To do very 
  34. good design (MYST-like, etc) will take some programming knowledge of 
  35. Lingo, but it's a fairly simple language. It's definitely a cool tool.
